It is the process of covering the teeth with tooth-shaped materials for the protection of the teeth which have lost excessive substance due to various reasons. The classical porcelain coating is made by firing the porcelain on a precious metal substructure (chrome nickel, metal without nickel, gold, titanium, gold palladium, etc.). Today, the metal substructures obtained by casting are added to the substructures obtained by milling method called milling. In this system, the desired metal is shaped with precision by means of milling method by means of computer and robot. Therefore, errors and volumetric deformations in the casting completely disappear. When the coating sits zero on the tooth, the life of the underlying tooth is prolonged. Because the metal in the milling system is finer than the metal casting, the tooth suffers less tissue loss in the preparation.

Application Area:

1- To restore the aesthetics of the worn out or decayed tissue loss due to various reasons.
2- To remove the missing tooth as a result of tooth extraction or tooth loss for many reasons. It is applied on crown and bridge tray by using the teeth near the mouth cavity.

Method of Application

After the tooth surface is prepared, the measurements are taken and sent to the technician. Classical porcelain is still used especially in long bridge applications and back group teeth.
